Golf Plays Round One of the Eagle Invitational

Goldey-Beacom played solidly against strong competition as it completed round one of the Eagle Invitational in Watertown, CT.

Sophomore Corbin Babyak (Wallenpaupack, PA) enjoyed a great round in which he shot 77, putting him tied for 27th. He carded a two-over-par 37 on the back nine with a birdie on the par-three 14th hole to go with five pars. Babyak also birdied the par-five seventh hole as part of his 40 on the front nine.

Junior Shea Murphy (Wilmington, DE) shot 39 on the back nine to close with 81 and is tied for 47th. Like Babyak, Murphy recorded five pars on the back nine.

Junior Braden Wheeler (Carleton Place, ON) and senior Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) each shot 84 and are tied for 60th place. Wheeler carded 41 on the front nine that included a birdie on the par-four fifth hole.

Goldey-Beacom is in 10th place with 326. Assumption carded 295 and is in first place.

Final-round action is Tuesday at the Watertown Golf Club.
