Men’s Golf Ends Sixth at the CACC Championship

Senior Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) and junior Shea Murphy (Wilmington, DE) for the second consecutive day each notched solid performances as Goldey-Beacom closed its play at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE.

After going out in 39, Quigg played the back nine in 37 that included birdies on the par-four 13th and 18th holes. His Monday total of 76 matched his Sunday score for 152 overall and placed him tied for 12th, a personal best at this event.

Like Quigg, Murphy duplicated his score from Sunday. The latter birdied the par-four 12th hole to play the back nine in 37, close the day with 77 and finish the championship with 154. That put him in sole possession of 16th place, also a personal best for this tournament.

Junior Braden Wheeler (Carleton Place, ON) shot 74, including a birdie on the par-three second hole, to finish tied for 17th at 155 and sophomore Corbin Babyak (Wallenpaupack, PA) carded a final-round 80 to end tied for 29th with 161.

In shooting 307 today, Goldey-Beacom ended the championship sixth with 622. Dominican (NY) won the title with 596.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action next Monday at the Eagle Invite in Watertown, CT.
