Coming off a year in which it returned to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, Goldey-Beacom looks to get back as the squad announced its 2018 schedule.

The team will open at the Pioneer Classic in Greeneville, TN for the second time in three years, playing March 9 in a doubleheader against UVA-Wise.  It also will face Belmont Abbey and host Tusculum on March 10 before a single game March 11 at Tusculum.

GBC then starts conference play March 17 at home against Concordia (NY), one of 26 league games on the docket.  Conference play ends April 28 at home against Bloomfield.

Nine non-league doubleheaders grace the schedule, starting with Millersville at home on March 21.  Other intriguing tilts include Bloomsburg at home on March 27, at West Chester on April 12 and Shippensburg at home on April 15.  The last three all were regionally ranked at the end of last season.

The conference tournament takes place May 3-5 at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ.  The top eight teams in the standings compete in the double-elimination foray.

Goldey-Beacom (17-32, 14-12 CACC) had an exceptional 2017 on the field, closing fifth in the conference and posting its first winning record in the league since it went 14-8 in 2006.

A key player back is junior infielder Rachel Davis (Bethel, DE), one of three on last year's team to start all 49 contests.  She started 47 games at third base, was second on the team with 12 multi-hit games, ended 29th in the league with 22 RBI, 40th with a .346 on base percentage and 47th with 37 hits.

Sophomore Kasey Goshorn (Salisbury, MD) had a solid debut campaign with 35 games that included 20 starts as the designated player.  She closed 70th in the league with 13 RBI and was tied for seventh on the squad with 20 hits.

Senior Kylie Doyle (Tower City, PA) last season recorded seven victories in the circle to end 16th in the conference, finished eighth with 13 complete games, was picked to the CACC All-Tournament Team and enters seventh in team history with 260 1/3 innings pitched.  Senior Kelsey Brandle (Bethlehem, PA) has made 117 starts in her career and enters 2018 eighth in team annals with 22 steals.
