Softball Gets Three Named All-Conference

5/5/2026 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom's softball team saw junior shortstop McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA) named first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with freshman outfielder Ayri Hansen (Lakewood, CA) and junior pitcher Molly Skelly (Blackwood, NJ) each picked second team.

Frank not only is one of the program's most reliable players, but statistically she produced one of the best seasons in team annals.  A beyond-gifted athlete and one of the squad's best teammates, her .413 batting average (third in the CACC) is believed to be the second-best in the NCAA era.  She also is fifth in the league with 52 hits, sixth with a .459 on-base percentage and first on the team with 15 multi-hit contests.

Her 183 career hits are fourth in team history and second in the NCAA era.  She is tied for third in GBC annals with 33 doubles and 10th with a .385 batting average.

Hansen immediately stepped into the lineup this year and played like a seasoned veteran, giving the Lightning timely hitting and great defense.  She is second on the team with 13 multi-hit contests, is riding a team-best 16-game hitting streak and a team-best 17-game on-base streak.

She is 10th in the CACC with a .373 batting average, 14th with 44 hits and tied for fourth with four triples.

Skelly (11-7) returned to the squad this year and owned the number one pitcher's spot a majority of the season.  Always putting the Lightning in a spot to win, Skelly notched a four-game winning streak and pitched at least six innings 11 times.

She is second in the league with a 2.76 ERA, fourth with 114 1/3 innings, tied for fifth with 11 wins and ninth with a .290 batting average against.

Goldey-Beacom (20-20, 9-9 CACC) played in the CACC Tournament a fourth straight year, presently owns a league-best .309 batting average and featured an opening-day lineup with four newcomers.

GBC now awaits its fate on whether it will make the NCAA Tournament a second straight year.  The Lightning are eighth in the latest NCAA East Region rankings with eight making the tournament.

The selection show is Monday, May 11 at 10:00 am on NCAA.com.
