Softball Drops a Pair at Felician

Goldey-Beacom finished its regular season with a pair of tough Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference losses, falling 3-2 and 5-1 at Felician in Nutley, NJ.
 
Goldey-Beacom in game one forged a 1-1 tie in the top of the third inning.  Autumn Simpson (Elkton, MD) walked, took second on a single from fellow senior Delaney Insinga (Southampton, NJ), reached third on an error and scored when freshman Ayri Hansen (Lakewood, CA) was hit by a pitch.
 
Felician scored twice in the third for a 3-1 lead before freshman Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) in the fourth cracked her first collegiate home run in bringing GBC within one run.  The visitors stranded the tying run on second in the fifth inning and only got one baserunner the rest of the way.
 
Insinga closed with two hits.
 
The Golden Falcons (21-21, 12-4 CACC) in game two plated two runs in the last of the third inning.  Kimberly Torres lined a two-run double and Karina DeLaVega added an RBI groundout.
 
Brielle Cubala smacked a solo homer in the fifth and Mikayla Brown added a sacrifice fly later in the frame for a 5-0 margin.
 
Senior Chasedy Johnson (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) got an RBI groundout in the seventh for the final.
 
Gingras finished with two hits.
 
Goldey-Beacom (20-18, 9-9) is in fifth place in the CACC and awaits its opponent in the CACC Tournament.  Please keep in touch with GBCAthletics.com and CACCAthletics.org for any schedule updates.  The regular season is scheduled to end Wednesday (weather permitting) and the eight-team CACC Tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday.
