Goldey-Beacom went against some tough competition in its season-opening tournament, closing eighth at the FPU Invitational in Keene, NH.

Freshman Corbin Babyak (Wallenpaupack, PA) was the story for the Lightning, shooting a final-round 77 to end tied for 17th at 157. He recorded 20 pars for the tournament over 36 holes.

Junior Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) ended tied for 40th with 164, freshman Hunter Tollinger (Elkton, MD) closed tied for 46th with 166 and senior Andre Primeau (Pontypool, ON) was tied for 49th with 169.

The Lightning carded 329 in the final round to finish at 656. Southern New Hampshire today shot 296 and won with 594.

Goldey-Beacom will play in the Charger Challenge from September 23-24 in Suffern, NY.
