Kylie Doyle Picked to CACC Softball All-Tournament Team

In what was a solid campaign for Goldey-Beacom junior Kylie Doyle (Tower City, PA), the year got better with her awarded a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball All-Tournament Team.

Doyle tossed 18 innings over three games with three strikeouts and victory. That win took place Thursday, when she tossed a five-hit shutout with three strikeouts in Goldey-Beacom's 2-0 triumph over Wilmington (DE) in both teams' opening game.

In the Lightning's first CACC Tournament game since 2006, they notched their first victory since 2005 and were in the winners' bracket for just the fourth time in school history.

Doyle has been a solid pitcher all season in making a team-high 23 of the team's 49 starts. She was 23rd in the league with 40 strikeouts, seventh with 142 2/3 innings pitched, eighth with 13 complete games and tied for 16th with seven wins.

Goldey-Beacom (17-32, 14-12 CACC) had a remarkable campaign in which it closed fifth in the conference after being picked 14th in the league's preseason coaches' poll. Its winning record in the conference is a first since the squad went 14-8 in 2006.
