Mandia Closes in Eighth-Place Tie for Men’s Golf at CACC Championship

Goldey-Beacom senior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) ended his outstanding run at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship with a three-over-par 74 to end with 152 and tied for eighth in Middletown, DE.

Mandia went out in 38 to begin the final round before birdies on the 10th and 11th holes to come in at 36. After opening Tuesday with 78, he closed the championship a mere four shots behind Elliot Wakefield of Nyack.

Junior Andre Primeau (Pontypool, ON) shot a blistering 74, including a birdie on the par-five fifth hole, and closed tied for 17th with 157. Freshman Shea Murphy (Wilmington, DE) was 29th with 163, including 76 in the final round.

Goldey-Beacom tallied an impressive 304 to end the championship sixth at 643. Wilmington (DE) claimed the title with 608, three shots in front of Dominican (NY).

Goldey-Beacom now will await to see if it has any participants in the NCAA Regional, which takes place May 8-10 in Daniels, WV.
