Baseball Ends Series With Loss at Newberry



Goldey-Beacom concluded its four-game series at Newberry with a 29-0 setback in Newberry, SC.
 
Brandon Abdul (Old Bridge, NJ) and fellow sophomore Calvin Clark (Millville, NJ) closed with two hits apiece with Adbul recording his first triple of the season, the second in school history.
 
Royersford, PA freshman Brandon Ferrie (0-1) gave up five runs and nine hits over 2 1/3 innings for the Lightning (0-7).
 
Ben Herring went 4-for-4 and Derek Olenchuk collected three hits with seven RBI and two doubles for Newberry (8-8).  Josh Stempihar (2-1) tossed five scoreless innings, allowing three hits with three strikeouts.
 
Goldey-Beacom is on the road Saturday to face Queens (NY), starting at noon in Flushing, NY.
