QUEB 4 9 0 0 0 2 0 2 X 17 14 3 W: Broderick, Joseph (1-1) L: Kinsell, Jake (0-2) Game Recap: Baseball | 3/4/2017 12:00:00 AM Baseball Handed 17-10 Loss by Queens (NY) Tweet #GBCLightning Goldey-Beacom fell into an early deficit and could not recover in a 17-10 loss at Queens (NY) in Flushing, NY.  Trailing 4-0 entering the second inning, GBC got two runs back in the top of the frame. Freshman Justin Hill (Seaford, DE) roped an RBI triple, scoring fellow freshman Tevin Thomas (Dover, DE), and then crossed home on a balk.  But the Knights plated nine runs in the bottom of the frame for a 13-2 cushion. Louis Antos delivered the key blow with a three-run double.  Thomas and sophomore Brandon Abdul (Old Bridge, NJ) each had two hits and both are riding seven-game hitting streaks. Abdul recorded both of his RBI on a two-run triple in the fourth.  Carmichaels, PA freshman Jake Kinsell (0-2) was charged with 11 runs – nine earned – and five hits over 1 2/3 innings with a strikeout for the Lightning (0-8).  Antos had four RBI with Joseph Pidoto recording three hits for the Knights (3-3). Joseph Broderick (1-1) struck out eight over five innings, allowing nine runs – six earned – and eight hits.  These teams will battle again Sunday for a noon doubleheader at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE. It will be the first home games for Goldey-Beacom as a Division II school.  Print Friendly Version
