Davis and Goshorn Tabbed to CACC Softball Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom freshman Tevin Thomas (Dover DE) put the exclamation point on his solid first week in being named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week with sophomore Rachel Davis (Bethel, DE) and freshman Kasey Goshorn (Salisbury, MD) picked to Softball's Weekly Honor Roll.

Thomas batted .600 (6-for-10) with four RBI and a double over three games at Barton. He had a hit in all three contests, including three hits, a double and three RBI on Sunday in the finale. Thomas also recorded two hits and an RBI on Saturday in game one at Barton.

Davis batted 8-for-19 over six games in the season's first weekend. She recorded five hits Friday in the opening doubleheader at Virginia State, including three hits and three RBI in the first game that saw GBC record a 22-14 nine-inning triumph.

Goshorn had an impressive first weekend for the Lightning, going 9-for-17 over her first six contests. Her best day was Friday, when she collected five hits in a doubleheader against Virginia State that included three in the nightcap to go with three runs.

The baseball squad this weekend plays a four-game series at Newberry, starting Friday at 5:00 pm. The softball team is off until March 4, when it faces Bridgeport for the home opener in a noon doubleheader.
