Garrett Brown Finishes Tied for 18th at the CACC Golf Championship

Junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) closed tied for 18th to help Goldey-Beacom finish eighth at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship in Middletown, DE.

Brown, a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier, on day two birdied the par-four sixth hole and then carded 39 over the back nine to close with a final-round 81. He finished the championship with 161 after shooting 80 on Tuesday at Back Creek Golf Club.

Junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) shot a final-round 81 to end tied for 25th with 163. This included back-to-back birdies on the 10th and 11th holes to finish with 40 on the final nine.

Sophomore Andre Primeau (Pontypool, Ontario) closed 32nd with 167, junior Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE) ended 41st with 171 and sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) was tied for 44th with 175.

Goldey-Beacom finished the championship eighth with 661, including a final-round 335. Wilmington (DE) won the team crown with 599 that included 297 on day two. Felician's Andrew Geesey took medalist honors with 145, one shot better than Wilmington's Ryan Rucinski.

GBC now will wait to see if anyone qualifies for this year's NCAA Regional, which takes place May 2-4 in Baldwinsville, NY.
