Garrett Brown Finishes Tied for Third at Dowling Tournament

Junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) concluded his exceptional weekend by posting one of his best finishes, ending tied for third at the Dowling Memorial Tournament in Shoreham, NY.

Brown today shot a one-over-par 72 to end with 145 and fall just two shots in back of John Clare from Le Moyne, who carded 74 today after shooting 69 Friday.

It is Brown's second-best career finish as he won the Philadelphia U. Tri-Match in September 2014 during his first collegiate tournament. The two-time NCAA Regional participant has two top-10 finishes this season and nine career to go with 11 sub-80 rounds in the campaign.

The Lightning shot 313 over the final round to conclude ninth with 621 over 36 holes. Le Moyne won with 585, 14 shots better than second-place Bentley.

Sophomore Andre Primeau (Pontypool, Ontario) closed tied for 39th with 156 and junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) was tied for 44th with 158 as both shot 80 today. Sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) was tied for 55th with 164 and junior Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE) finished tied for 59th with 168.

Goldey-Beacom is in action April 10-11 at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational in Exton, PA.
