Men’s Golf Competes at West Chester in Final Tune-Up

Goldey-Beacom's final tournament before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship saw it compete at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational in Exton, PA.

In what turned out to be yet another competitive 36 holes, junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) closed tied for eighth with 155 and just seven shots off the pace set by Blaze Hogan of Mercyhurst. Mandia finished his opening round Monday with 76 and came back later in the day with 79.

Junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) shot 80 in what turned out to be the afternoon round, closing tied for 20th with 162. Andre Primeau (Pontypool, Ontario) was 31st with 171, fellow sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) closed 35th and junior Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE) finished 37th.

GBC ended fifth with 660, including an opening-round 328, and Indiana (PA) was tops with 611.

Goldey-Beacom returns to the links next Tuesday and Wednesday for the CACC Championship at Back Creek Golf Course in Middletown, DE. During Monday night's banquet, GBC legend Mike Tobiason will be enshrined as part of the inaugural class of the CACC Hall of Fame.
