Men’s Golf Finishes Third at the GBC Spring Invitational

Goldey-Beacom went toe-to-toe in cold and windy conditions against some of the area's top players, closing third at the GBC Spring Invitational at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE.

Sophomore Andre Primeau (Pontypool, Ontario) continued his torrid play, finishing tops among Division II players and second overall with 73. He closed tied with Tian Zhang of Division I Delaware, but the latter took medalist honors on better score over the final nine holes (37-38).

A reigning member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll, Primeau today recorded his sixth sub-80 round of the season.

Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) closed tied for sixth with 77, fellow junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) was 14th with 80 and sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) ended tied for 18th with 83. Junior Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE) finished tied for 20th with 86, freshman Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) was tied for 22nd with 87 and junior Eric Naccarelli (Williamstown, NJ) carded 95 to close 24th.

The Lightning as a unit carded 316. West Chester won the team crown with 309, followed by Chestnut Hill with 314.

Goldey-Beacom is in action Tuesday at the Griffin Invitational in Avondale, PA.
