Golf Opens Spring Campaign at the Brown Golf Intercollegiate

Goldey-Beacom began its 2016 spring campaign by competing in the opening round of the Brown Golf Intercollegiate in Whispering Pines, NC.

Junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) again got off to a flying start with 78 and is tied for 12th place. The two-time NCAA Regional qualifier is five shots off the pace, set by Ritwik Jain of Charleston.

Freshman Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) is tied for 35th with 82, sophomore Andre Primeau (Pontypool, Ontario) is tied for 46th with 84 along with junior Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE). Junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) shot 90 and sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) carded 94.

GBC is ninth after 18 holes with 334. Charleston leads the pack with 313.

Goldey-Beacom is back on the links Saturday for the final round, starting at 10:00 am.
