Men’s Golf Finishes Play at the Charger Challenge

Goldey-Beacom played strong against an outstanding field and finished seventh at the Charger Challenge in Suffern, NY.
 
Sophomore Andre Primeau (Pontypool, ON) led the way for the Lightning, carding a season-best 73 in the final round and ending the tournament tied for 11th with 153.  Junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) fired 77 on Monday to close tied for 26th with 158 and freshman Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) also shot 158 over 36 holes.
 
Junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) ended 36th with 164 that included a final-round 78 and sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) was 38th with 166.

The Lightning shot 309 on the final day and closed with 632.  Saint Thomas Aquinas was too much, carding 593 over the two rounds.  In the 18 totals rounds played by the nine teams, four of those rounds saw teams break 300.

Goldey-Beacom is home next Monday for the GBC Fall Invitational at Deerfield Country Club in Newark, DE.
