Golf Ends Sixth at Dowling’s September Shootout

Goldey-Beacom had an impressive weekend by finishing sixth out of 11 teams at the September Shootout in Shoreham, NY, hosted by Dowling College.

Junior Chris Mandia (Catskill, NY) closed tied for 21st with 150 that included a final-round 74. Sophomore Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) shot a first-round 71 en route to finishing tied for 23rd with 151. Sophomore Andre Primeau (Pontypool, Ontario) was tied for 27th with 152, junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) closed 33rd with 154 and freshman Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) ended tied for 43rd with 161.

The Lighting shot 299 in the opening round to end the 36-hole championship with 605. Saint Thomas Aquinas won the title with 553.

Goldey-Beacom returns to the links September 27-28 at the Charger Challenge in Montebello, NY.
