Men’s Golf Ends Seventh at the GBC Spring Invitational

Goldey-Beacom had several strong individual efforts as it competed at the GBC Spring Invitational in Smyrna, DE.

Senior Patrick McRae (Markham, ON) once again played solidly, ending tied for ninth with a six-over-par 78. Freshman Andre Primeau (Pontypool, ON) was tied for 18th with 80 and sophomore Garrett Brown (Severn, MD) closed 23rd with 81 at Garrisons Lake Golf Club.

Tyler McElwee (Wilmington, DE) was tied for 38th with 85 and fellow senior Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE) ended 51st with 94.

The Lightning closed seventh with 324, one shot in back of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe Nyack. Wilmington (DE) captured the title by five shots with 309 and Andreas Lunding for the Wildcats took medalist honors with a one-under-par 71, winning by two shots.

Goldey-Beacom gets back on the links Tuesday at the Griffin Invitational in Avondale, PA.
