Men’s Golf Opens Spring Campaign at the St. James Plantation Invitational

Goldey-Beacom's spring season finally got underway with its men's golf team competing at the St. James Plantation Invitational in Southport, NC.

Senior Patrick McRae (Markham, ON) was the highest finisher for the Lightning, closing tied for 32nd with 166 that included an opening-round 81. Sophomore Garrett Brown (Severn, MD), who last spring competed at the NCAA Regional Championship, was tied for 52nd with 173.

Freshman Andre Primeau (Pontypool, ON) also was tied for 52nd with 173, sophomore Tom Hannig (Claymont, DE) finished tied for 69th with 180, senior Tyler McElwee (Wilmington, DE) ended tied for 72nd with 181 and freshman Barry Frankel (Sykesville, MD) closed 75th with 183.

Goldey-Beacom ended the championship in 10th place with 688.

The Lightning are back in action next Monday, hosting the GBC Spring Invitational at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE.
