SHOREHAM, N.Y. – Sophomore
Garrett Brown (Glen Burnie H.S./Severn, Md.) earned a share of ninth place after shooting a two-round total of 148 as Goldey-Beacom College finished in ninth place at the Dowling September Shootout at the Tall Grass Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
The Lightning carded a team score of 306 in the opening round before posting a 320 in the second round. Le Moyne College earned the team title after posting a two-round total of 588 (+20).
Brown, who fired an even-par 71 in the opening round on Sunday, shot a six-over-par score of 77 in the second round to finish in a tie for ninth place with two other golfers.
Senior
Patrick McRae (Markham, Ontario, Canada) finished in a tie for 33rd place after posting a two-round score of 156, including a 77 (+6) in the second round. Freshman
Barry Frankel earned a share of 48th place after firing a score of 161 over the two rounds while freshman
Andre Primeau followed in a share of 50th place with a score of 163.
Sophomore
Tom Hannig (Concord H.S./Claymont, Del.) finished in 54th place with a two-round score of 167, including an 83 in the second round.
The Lightning will be idle until Monday, Oct. 6 when they host the annual Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic at Newark Country Club.
