BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. - Freshman Garrett Brown (Glen Burnie H.S./Severn, Md.) finished in a tie for 23rd place as the Goldey-Beacom College men's golf team finished in 18th place at the 51st Annual Cecil Spadafora Golf Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort on Monday afternoon.

The host Crimson Hawks earned the team championship after carding a two-round total of 573 while California (Pa.) followed in second place after finishing 10 strokes back of Indiana (Pa.). Meanwhile, Adelphi placed third with a 586 team score while Millersville claimed fourth place with a 589 team score.

After firing a 79 in the first round of the tournament, Brown shot a one-under-par score of 70 in the second round to lead the Lightning. Meanwhile, senior Matthew Japchen (Central Bucks West H.S./Doylestown, Pa.) followed in 73rd place after shooting a 158 in the two-round tournament while freshman Tom Hannig (Concord H.S./Claymont, Del.) earned a share of 81st place with a 163 score.

Senior Justin Lesko (St. Mark's H.S./Newark, Del.) carded a two-round score of 164 to finish in 84th place while junior Matthew Scheeper (Delsea H.S./Franklinville, N.J.) posted a two-round total of 176 to earn 94th place.

The Lightning will finish their 2013-14 season on Monday, Apr. 21 at Philadelphia University.
