WATERBURY, Conn. - Sophomore infielder
Asia Ellis (Lenape H.S./Marlton, N.J.) blasted her first home run of the season, but it was not enough as Post University (4-7, 2-0) earned a sweep of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader over Goldey-Beacom College (1-10, 0-4) at the Eagles' LaMoy Field on Friday afternoon.
After the Eagles posted a 5-2 victory in the first game, they earned the sweep by claiming an 8-2 triumph in the nightcap.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning in the opener. After senior

Rebecca Erb (Pennsbury H.S./Yardley, Pa.) connected on a two-run home run to center field with two outs.
In the top of the third inning, the Lightning trimmed the deficit to 3-1 when senior infielder
Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester City H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) scored on a fielder's choice by senior utility player
Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) with two outs.
The Eagles added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to increase their lead to 5-1. Zaccaria scored in the top of the fifth inning to trim the margin to 5-2, but the Lightning were unable to get any closer.
In the second game, the Lightning took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning when Ellis hit a two-run home run with one out.
But, the Eagles answered by scoring six times in the bottom of the inning to take a commanding 6-2 advantage. They added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on a home run by redshirt freshman pitcher
