WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior third baseman
Toni Coleman (Port St. Lucie H.S./Port St. Lucie, Fla.) collected four hits and drove in a pair of runs as Bloomfield College (9-3, 2-0) earned a pair of wins over Goldey-Beacom College (1-8, 0-2) in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener for both teams at the Jackson Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon.
After posting a 4-1 victory over the Lightning in the first game, the Deacons secured the sweep by scoring a season-high 15 runs en route to a 15-2 victory in the nightcap.
In the first game, the Deacons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when freshman pitcher
Stephanie Miller (Great Oak H.S./Temecula, Calif.) hit an RBI single down the left field line with two outs.
Bloomfield added two more runs in the top of the third inning when Coleman hit an RBI single to center field with two outs.

Ryann Farley (Barnegat H.S./Barnegat, N.J.) trimmed the Goldey-Beacom deficit to 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Deacons added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning when senior shortstop
Angie Yoshizu (University Laboratory H.S./Kaneohe, Hawaii) scored on a passed ball.
The Lightning claimed an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning in the second game when senior third baseman
Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester City H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) hit a single that allowed two runs to score.
But, Bloomfield answered by scoring nine runs in the top of the third inning to take a commanding 9-2 lead. Freshman pitcher
Kirsten Wilson (Riverside H.S./Beaver Falls, Pa.) drove in four runs during the inning with a double and a single.
The Deacons added three more runs in each of the next two innings while holding the Lightning to just two hits en route to securing the five-inning victory.
While Coleman led the Deacons to the pair of wins, Wilson contributed a pair of hits while driving in four runs. She also earned the save in the first game after pitching 2.1 innings of scoreless relief. She tallied two strikeouts and did not allow a hit.

Charlee King (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./New Castle, Del.) led the Lightning with three hits while Farley had a pair of hits with a run batted in.
The Lightning will continue their eight-game homestand on Wednesday, Mar. 19 by facing Mercy College in a non-conference doubleheader.
