ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Playing the final games of her college career, senior
Ashley Antosh (Twin Valley H.S./Honey Brook, Pa.) had three base hits and scored two runs while pitching a complete game as Goldey-Beacom College (13-31, 8-18) ended its season by sweeping a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader over Nyack College (5-30, 1-25) at the Orangeburg Little League Field on Saturday afternoon.
After earning a 10-6 victory over the Warriors in the first game, the Lightning erupted for 12 runs and 17 hits in the nightcap to earn a 12-4 triumph in six innings.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning in the first game when senior
Anna Bailey (Milford, Conn.) reached on a fielding error by junior
Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) with the bases loaded.
In the bottom of the third inning, Nyack extended its margin to 3-0 when junior
Telsa Murillo (Indio, Calif.) hit a two-run double with two outs.
The Lightning narrowed the deficit to 3-1 in the top of the fourth inning when sophomore
Samantha Alonzo (Roy C. Ketcham H.S./Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) hit her first home run of the season, a solo shot with two outs.
But, the Warriors added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by senior
Taylor Brown (Ellington, Conn.) before upping their advantage to 5-1 with an RBI double by Murillo in the fifth inning.
Trailing by four runs in the sixth inning, the Lightning tied the game by scoring four times on five hits. After Peters and junior outfielder
Michelle Foster (Overbrook H.S./West Berlin, N.J.) opened the inning with back-to-back hits, freshman catcher
Alivia Schoff (Rising Sun H.S./Colora, Md.) hit an RBI single to narrow the gap to 5-2.
Peters trimmed the margin to 5-3 when she stole home plate in a double steal attempt before sophomore
Alexa Houston (Sussex Central H.S./Georgetown, Del.) tied the game with the first home run of her college career, a two-run blast off
Chelsea Macaluso.
In the top of the seventh inning, the Lightning took the lead with a five-run inning. Schoff drove in a pair of runs with a one-out single to give Goldey-Beacom a 7-5 edge before Alonzo and sophomore
Asia Ellis (Lenape H.S./Marlton, N.J.) drove in three more runs with back-to-back doubles.
Bailey closed the gap to 10-6 with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI ground out, but Antosh retired the final two hitters to secure the victory.
Antosh, who upped her record to 6-14, recorded seven strikeouts while allowing just four earned runs.
The Lightning took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Schoff hit an RBI single, but the Warriors answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning on a single by Brown and a double by Murillo.
Trailing by a 2-1 margin, the Lightning scored five times in the top of the second inning to take a 6-2 lead. After Foster and junior third baseman

In the top of the fifth inning, the Lightning upped their cushion to 9-3. After an RBI double by freshman
Taylor Ewing (North Dorchester H.S./Hurlock, Md.), Peters drove in a run with a single before Foster scored on a wild pitch by Flemming with two outs in the inning.
In the bottom of the inning, Brown hit an RBI double to close the gap to 9-4, but Goldey-Beacom added three runs in the top of the sixth inning to secure the eight-run victory.
Schoff led the Lightning to the doubleheader sweep by going 5-for-8 with four runs batted in and two runs scored. Meanwhile, Foster contributed five hits, including a pair of doubles, with three runs scored and two RBI.
In addition, Peters added four hits with four runs scored and four runs batted in while stealing four bases.
