WILMINGTON, Del. – Sophomore outfielder Dara Schroeder (Northern Burlington H.S./Bordentown, N.J.) had three hits and scored four runs to lead Georgian Court University (20-18, 12-4) to a sweep of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader over Goldey-Beacom College (9-21, 5-11) at the Lightning's Jackson Athletic Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions, who are 10-1 in their last 11 games, won the first game by a 2-0 margin before recording a 7-0 victory in the nightcap. Meanwhile, the Lightning have now lost 11 games in a row.

In the first game, the Lions took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning when junior infielder Briana Molino (Williamstown, N.J.) hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Schroeder from third base.

The Lions added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning when Molino hit another sacrifice fly to center field that allowed junior infielder Justine Mattia (Williamstown, N.J.) to score.

Led by junior pitcher Kristina Morgan (Audubon H.S./Audubon, N.J.), the Lions held Goldey-Beacom to just three hits. Morgan, who improved her record to 7-6 on the season, posted her second shutout of the year after striking out five hitters while not allowing a walk.

After Georgian Court took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning of the second game on an RBI single by freshman Meghan Sfraga (Land O Lakes H.S./Land O Lakes, Fla.), the Lions added three more runs in the top of the third inning for a 4-0 lead. After Molino drove in two runs with a double down the left field line, she scored on a throwing error by junior Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) to extend the advantage.

In the top of the fourth inning, Georgian Court upped the margin to 6-0 when junior infielder Taylor McDonough (Toms River, N.J.) hit a two-run triple to center field. The Lions added an unearned run in the fifth inning on a fielding error by the Lightning to extend the cushion to 7-0.

Junior pitcher Deanna Daluise (Manalapan, N.J.) recorded her second shutout of the season by limiting the Lightning to five hits in the second game. Now 7-6 on the season, she also recorded her fifth complete game of the season after striking out six Goldey-Beacom hitters while allowing four walks.

In addition to her three hits and four runs, Schroeder also stole a pair of bases in the doubleheader, upping her team-high total to 16 stolen bases. She has stolen 10 bases in a row. Meanwhile, Molino drove in four runs while scoring a run with a hit.

Peters, sophomore utility player Samantha Alonzo (Roy C. Ketcham H.S./Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) and junior utility player Courtney Dolson (Gloucester H.S./Gloucester, N.J.) each posted two hits to lead the Lightning in a losing effort.

The Lightning will open a six-game road trip on Saturday, Apr. 13 when they travel to Concordia for a CACC doubleheader against the Clippers starting at 1 p.m.
