LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Junior
Patrick McRae (Markham, Ontario, Canada) and freshman
Brett Moore (West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada) each finished in a tie for sixth place to lead Goldey-Beacom College to a fourth place effort at the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championship at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Led by McRae and Moore, the Lightning posted a team score of 318 for the second consecutive day to finish with a +60 for the tournament. Meanwhile, Wilmington University earned its third consecutive CACC title after carding a 312 as a team in the second round to finish 18 strokes ahead of Concordia.
McRae, who shot an 80 in the first round on Tuesday, finished the second round with a four-over par score of 76 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Moore fired an 80 in the second round after completing the tournament's first round with a +4 score.
Senior
Jeff Whiteside (Newark H.S./Bear, Del.) posted his second straight round of 80 to finish in a tie for 17th place while senior
Devon Ripley (Caesar Rodney H.S./Camden, Del.) earned a share of 22nd place after posting his second straight round of 82 on Wednesday.
Sophomore
Matthew Scheeper (Delsea H.S./Franklinville, N.J.) ended the tournament in 43rd place after carding a score of 93 in the second round.
The Lightning will complete their regular season schedule this weekend by competing at the 50th annual IUP-Cecil Spadafora Golf Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
