Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) pitched the second shutout of her college career as Goldey-Beacom College (8-10, 4-2) earned a split of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against the University of the Sciences (8-8, 4-2) at the Lightning's Jackson Athletic Complex on Thursday afternoon.
Playing their second doubleheader in as many days, the Lightning earned a 1-0 victory in the first game before the Devils posted an 8-0 victory in six innings in the nightcap.

Michelle Foster (Overbrook H.S./West Berlin, N.J.) from first base.
It was the only run the Lightning needed as Peters retired the final nine batters to complete the shutout. In earning her second consecutive victory, she allowed just one hit while striking out seven University of the Sciences hitters with one walk.

In the second inning, the Devils upped the advantage to 2-0 when freshman
Stephanie Fultano (Collingswood H.S./Collingswood, N.J.) hit the first home run of her college career, a solo shot to center field.
The Devils took advantage of a two-out error in the top of the sixth inning to score six more runs, extending the margin to 8-0. After junior
Samantha Shaver (E.L. Meyers H.S./Wilkes-Barre Township, Pa.) scored on a passed ball for a 3-0 lead, senior shortstop

Gabrielle Adams (Chichester H.S./Aston, Pa.) to make it a 5-0 margin before senior designated player
