SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Junior forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.) made 7 of 11 shots from the floor and scored a team-high 15 points as Goldey-Beacom College (3-2) earned its second win in a row, a 50-47 victory over Lock Haven University (1-2) at the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic at Heiges Field House on Saturday afternoon.

The victory allowed the Lightning to earn back-to-back wins for the first time this season while handing the Eagles their second straight loss.

Led by five points from Grover, the Lightning jumped out to an early 11-8 lead in the first 10 minutes of the half. But, the Eagles responded by scoring seven straight points over the next five minutes to take a 15-11 advantage with 4:46 remaining on a pair of free throws by senior forward Kelsey Ryan (Neshaminy H.S./Levittown, Pa.).

After the Lightning regained the lead by scoring six consecutive points, the Eagles tallied six of the final eight points in the period to claim a 21-19 edge at the intermission.

The Lightning used a pair of lay-ups by Grover to ignite a six-point spurt to open the second half, giving Goldey-Beacom a 25-21 lead with 16:10 left. The Lightning held onto their slim lead until a three-point field goal by junior guard Emily Daugherty (Ligonier Valley H.S./Laughlintown, Pa.) with 3:47 remaining gave Lock Haven a 40-39 advantage.

But, the Lightning took the lead back by going on a 9-3 run over the next 2:18 to gain a 48-43 advantage with 1:29 left on a lay-up by senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.).

After a lay-up by junior Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa.) narrowed the gap to 48-45 with 1:16 remaining, junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) secured the victory by sinking a pair of free throws with 50 seconds remaining.

While Grover led the Lightning to the victory, Richmond-Peters contributed eight points with a team-high 14 rebounds and four assists.

Moyer led Lock Haven with a game-high 16 points by making 5 of 14 shots from the floor and 6 of 7 free throws. She also added a game-high 14 rebounds for her first "double double" of the season.

The Lightning, who are in the middle of a seven-game road trip to open the season, will be idle until Tuesday, Nov. 26 when they return to their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule at Georgian Court at 6 p.m.
