VERONA, N.Y. - Freshman Garrett Brown (Glen Burnie H.S./Severn, Md.) finished in eighth place with an 11-over-par as the Goldey-Beacom College men's golf team earned an eighth place finish at the ADPRO Sports Invitational at Turning Stone Resort on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lightning finished with a three-round total of 990 strokes (+126) while St. Thomas Aquinas College earned the team title with a +21 team score. Roberts Wesleyan College followed in second place with a +44 team score while Humber College finished with a third place effort after carding a +48 team total.

Brown finished the tournament with a three-round score of 227. After posting a 73 in the opening round on Monday, he carded a 74 in the second round. In the final round on Tuesday, he shot an eight-over-par score of 80.

Meanwhile, junior Matthew Scheeper (Delsea H.S./Franklinville, N.J.) posted a three-round total of 249 (+33) to finish in 40th place while senior Matthew Japchen (Central Bucks West H.S./Doylestown, Pa.) earned a share of 45th place after carding a three-round score of 254.

Freshman Tom Hannig (Concord H.S./Claymont, Del.) tallied a +46 score of 262 to finish in 48th place while senior Justin Lesko (St. Mark's H.S./Newark, Del.) fired a three-round score of 286.

The Lightning will compete in their final tournament of the Fall season this weekend by participating in the Port Jefferson Country Club Intercollegiate.
