WILMINGTON, Del.
- Coming off a tough 3-0 loss against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe Dominican on Saturday, the Lightning men's soccer team will open a three-match homestand on Tuesday afternoon by hosting Washington Adventist University in a non-conference match at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex.

Opening kick-off between the Lightning and the Shock is set for 4 p.m. and will be the second game of a doubleheader as the Lightning women's soccer team will also host the Shock at 2 p.m.

Now 1-5-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the CACC, the Lightning will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak when they face the Shock on Tuesday afternoon. Goldey-Beacom has not won since opening the season with a 2-1 victory at the College of Saint Rose on Aug. 31.

Senior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias (Maracay, Venezuela) has played well for the Lightning over the last four matches, posting a 2.75 goals against average while stopping 70.3 per cent of the shots he faced. With 26 saves in four matches, he ranks eighth in the CACC.

Off to a 2-3-0 start to the season, the Shock have been idle since posting a 7-0 victory over Gallaudet on Wednesday afternoon. Led by senior midfielder Allen Adeleke (Whitehaven H.S./Memphis, Tenn.) and junior midfielder Jinmi Ismail (Houston, Texas), the Shock scored more goals in Wednesday's victory than they had in their previous four games combined.

Adeleke is the Shock's leading scorer with four goals while Ismail ranks second with three goals. Both players recorded a "hat trick" in the victory over Gallaudet.

The Lightning will be looking to avenge last year's 2-0 loss against the Shock. Farias made seven saves in a losing effort for the Lightning, who were outshot by a 21-10 margin.

After Tuesday's match, the Lightning will return to CACC play by hosting Concordia College at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
