CACC Reveals Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll

Goldey-Beacom once again will face tough competition in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, which has released its preseason poll based on a vote of the league's coaches.

Senior Derrick Muhire (Kigali, Rwanda) has been a warrior in his four years with the Lightning, working his way back from injury after missing the 2023 campaign to produce two highly productive years at midfield. Possessing great ability and a strong mental fortitude, Muhire started all 17 games he played last season after his 18 matches with 13 starts in 2024.

Senior Jamel Yasin (Sewell, NJ) is back in goal after playing in 14 games last season with 13 starts. He closed last season sixth in the CACC with 67 saves, which included 10 at perennial-power Post.

Sophomore midfielder Matt Porto (Wilmington, DE) is one of two from last season who started all 18 matches. His solid play enabled him to be one who was rarely substituted and one who solidified the unit.

Sophomore midfielder Trevor Sullivan (Camden, DE) returns looking for more playing time after competing in 11 games last season with two starts. Senior Josh Jensen (Johannesburg, South Africa) last year started all 17 games he competed and helped a defense allow no more than one goal in five matches.

The season begins August 27 at home against Pace, beginning at 3:30 pm.
