Men's Golf Finishes in 6th Place at NEIGC

Patrick McRae Leads Lightning with 4th Place Effort

BERLIN, Conn.
– Junior Patrick McRae (Markham, Ontario, Canada) fired a second round score of 76 to finish in a tie for fourth place as Goldey-Beacom College earned sixth place in the Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Timberlin Country Club on Monday afternoon.

Led by McRae, the Lightning posted a team score of 316 in the second round to finish the two-day tournament with a score of 633. UMass-Lowell, which had claimed the lead after the first day of competition, earned the team title after posting a 307 on Monday. The Riverhawks finished seven strokes ahead of host Post University, which carded a 618.

American International College, Saint Anselm College and Dowling College followed in third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.

After opening the season with a 77 on Sunday, McRae lowered his score by a stroke during the second round on Monday. Meanwhile, senior Jeff Whiteside (Newark H.S./Bear, Del.) finished in a tie for sixth place after carding a 76 on Monday to finish with a two-round score of 153.

Freshman Brett Moore (West Kelowna, B.C., Canada), who was playing in his first college tournament, earned a share of 35th place after shooting an 85 in the second round. Junior Justin Lesko (St. Mark's H.S./Newark, Del.) posted a two-round score of 166 to finish in 40th place while senior Devon Ripley (Caesar Rodney H.S./Camden, Del.) earned a tie of 41st place by carding a 167.

The Lightning will compete at the Dowling September Shootout on Friday, Sept. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 22.
