WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Sophomore
Patrick McRae (Markham, Canada) shot a 78 in the second round and finished in a tie for seventh place to lead the Goldey-Beacom College men's golf team at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at the Penn Oaks Golf Club on Monday afternoon.
McRae, who shot a 79 in the opening round on Sunday, recorded the Lightning's low score of the tournament as Goldey-Beacom finished in sixth place out of seven teams.
Junior
Jeff Whiteside (Newark H.S./Bear, Del.) fired an 80 in the secound round to finish the tournament in a tie for 18th place with a score of 163. Meanwhile, junior
Devon Ripley (Caesar Rodney H.S./Camden, Del.) earned a tie for 27th place with a two-round total of 167.
Freshman
Matthew Scheeper placed 35th with a score of 173 while sophomore
Bryan Neuhaus (Lago Vista H.S./Jonestown, Texas) turned in a 38th place effort with a score of 174.
Indiana University of Pa. earned the team title with a two-round total of 613 while Millersville's
Shane Henry was the medalist with a score of 150.
The Lightning will have a quick turnaround with a tri-match on Tuesday afternoon at Philadelphia University.
