WILMINGTON, Del. – Led by senior outfielder
Shannon Graves (Glassboro H.S./Glassboro, N.J.), Goldey-Beacom College (18-19, 8-10) salvaged a split of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Concordia College (9-18, 6-14) by earning a 2-1 come-from-behind victory in the second game at the Lightning's Jackson Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The Lightning, which dropped a 5-1 decision against the Clippers in the first game, overcame a 1-0 deficit in the nightcap by scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to earn a 2-1 verdict.
In the first game, the Clippers took a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning. After a double by senior catcher
Victoria Pisciotta (Kellenberg Memorial H.S/New Hyde Park, N.Y.) gave Concordia a 1-0 advantage, senior shortstop
Angela D'Amico (Old Bridge H.S./Old Bridge, N.J.) upped the cushion with a double to left center field.
With one out in the second inning, the Clippers extended the lead to 3-0 when junior pitcher
Theresa Magnani (Plainedge H.S./Bethpage, N.Y.) hit an RBI single up the middle.
In the fifth inning, Concordia took advantage of a Goldey-Beacom error with two outs to score a pair of runs to take a 5-0 advantage.
The Lightning ended the Clippers' shutout bid in the bottom of the seventh inning when sophomore third baseman
Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester City H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) tripled down the left field line to score senior second baseman
Ashley Paige (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Middletown, Del.) and trim the deficit to 5-1. However, Magnani was able to record the final two outs to post her 11th complete game of the season.
Concordia took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of the second game when sophomore third baseman
Nelyssa Rosario (Riverdale Kingsbridge H.S./Kingsbridge, N.Y.) singled up the middle to score D'Amico from second base.
But, Goldey-Beacom rallied by scoring two runs in the fourth inning to take a 2-1 lead. With one out in the inning, freshman

Samantha Alonzo (Roy C. Ketcham H.S./Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring freshman catcher
Karina Twining (Easton H.S./Easton, Md.) to tie the game at 1-1. Senior outfielder
Cailin Cavanaugh (Newark H.S./Newark, Del.) broke the tie moments later when she scored on a wild pitch by Magnani for a one-run edge.

Shannon O'Hara (LaPlata H.S./LaPlata, Md.) held the Clippers to just three hits over the final three innings to earn the victory, upping her record to 6-3.
Graves led the Lightning to the doubleheader sweep by going 3-for-6 with two stolen bases while sophomore pitcher
Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) also collected three hits, including two hits in the victory in the second game.
Pisciotta led Concordia with four hits, including a 3-for-4 performance in the Clippers' victory. She also scored a pair of runs with a run batted in. Magnani, who improved to 7-6 this season, pitched both games for Concordia and recorded five strikeouts while walking three hitters.
The Lightning will continue its six-game homestand on Monday afternoon by hosting Bloomfield in a CACC doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Concordia will start a season-ending six-game homestand against Felician on Tuesday afternoon.
