Opening Tip-Off
Looking to finish their three-game road trip on a positive note, the Lightning will play their final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game of the 2012 calendar year on Wednesday afternoon when they visit Chestnut Hill College for a 12 p.m. game against the Griffins. Live stats and video for Wednesday's game will be available on the Griffins' official athletics website, www.griffinathletics.com.

Scouting Chestnut Hill
After dropping a 75-48 non-conference decision against the New York Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon, the Griffins have lost eight consecutive games and will bring a 1-9 overall record and an 0-4 CACC mark into Wednesday's game against Goldey-Beacom. However, four of those losses have been decided by eight points or less, including a pair of games decided by two points or less. Senior forward Lindsay Alexander leads the Griffins in scoring with a 10.8 average while senior guard Latoya Laing is averaging 10.7 points per game after a team-high 15 points against NYIT on Saturday. Coach Laura Pruitt is in her second season as the Griffins' leader; she is a 2005 graduate of Dowling College and finished her career as the sixth-leading scorer in Golden Lions' history with 1,146 points.

Strong Second Half Lifts Molloy Past Lightning
After jumping out to a 31-27 lead in the first half, the Lightning were outscored by a 33-21 margin after the intermission and had their four-game win streak snapped with a 60-52 loss at Molloy last Wednesday evening at Quealy Gymnasium. Senior forward Irene Hudson led the Lightning in a losing effort by scoring a team-high 15 points, making 5 of 14 field goal attempts and 5 of 10 free throw attempts. Meanwhile, senior guard Devonne Richardson added 10 points with eight rebounds, snapping a streak of six straight games with at least 10 rebounds.

Richardson to Play in 100th Career Game
Senior guard Devonne Richardson is expected to become the seventh player in Goldey-Beacom women's basketball history to play in 100 career games when the Lightning face Chestnut Hill on Wednesday afternoon. A four-year starter for the Lightning, the Baltimore, Md. native has started 90 of 99 career games, including all 13 games this year. She can also break the school record for career games played, which was set by Toni Jones (2004-08) and Janae Weldon (2007-11). Jones and Weldon each played in 110 career games while Jones also holds the school record by starting 104 games in her career.

Richardson Receives Honorable Mention Notice from CACC
After leading the Lightning to a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over local rival Wilmington last week, senior guard Devonne Richardson earned honorable mention notice for the CACC's weekly awards on Monday evening. The Baltimore, Md. native averaged 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in two contests last week, including a season-high 22 points with 13 rebounds against the Wildcats in an 84-53 victory. She also contributed 10 points with 8 rebounds against Molloy in a 60-52 loss on Wednesday. The Lightning's leading scorer with a 13.4 average, Richardson has tallied 10 or more points in 9 of the Lightning's 13 games this season.

Series Business: Chestnut Hill
Wednesday's game between the Lightning and the Griffins will mark the 11th all-time meeting in a series that the Lightning lead by an 8-2 margin. The Lightning have won the last five meetings in the series by an average margin of 11.4 points per game. In addition, the Lightning are a perfect 5-0 all-time at home against the Griffins. Both of the Griffins' wins in the series have been decided by a total of nine points - a 61-58 victory on Dec. 11, 2008 season and a 60-54 triumph on Dec. 12, 2009.

A Look at Last Year's Meetings
The Lightning swept the regular season series against the Griffins last year, winning by a 50-43 margin in the regular season finale at Chestnut Hill after a 66-55 victory at the Jones Center. In the first meeting between the two teams, sophomore forward Chelsea Grover erupted for a career-high 16 points in just 18 minutes as the Lightning had four players score in double figures. Grover had a near-perfect shooting night, making five of six field goals along with all six of her free throw attempts. In the second meeting just six days later, senior guard Devonne Richardson posted a “double double” with 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Lightning held Chestnut Hill to just 15 points in the first half.

Another Quest for 1,000 for Richardson
Senior guard Devonne Richardson has the opportunity to become the second player in school history to record 1,000 career rebounds this season. After posting eight rebounds in the Lightning's loss against Molloy last Wednesday, the Baltimore, Md. native ranks second in school history with 978 career rebounds and needs 49 rebounds to become the school's all-time leader. With 133 rebounds in 13 games this season, Richardson ranks fourth in the CACC with a 10.2 average.

Too Close for Comfort
Of the Lightning's seven victories this season, five of them have been decided by seven points or less. In addition, the Lightning have won two of their games this year with a field goal in the closing seconds of regulation. On Nov. 12, senior guard Jacinda Jones gave Goldey-Beacom a 67-66 victory at Kutztown with a field goal with two seconds remaining. Senior guard Devonne Richardson scored on a lay-up with 5.8 seconds left in regulation on Dec. 8 to break a 53-53 tie against Caldwell.

What's Ahead for Goldey-Beacom
The Lightning will be idle until Friday, Dec. 28 when they host defending NCAA Division II champion Shaw University at the Joseph West Jones College Center. Opening tip-off between the Lightning and the Bears is slated for 2 p.m. and it will be the Lightning's final game of the 2012 calendar year.
