LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. - Led by junior
Patrick McRae (Markham, Ontario, Canada), the Goldey-Beacom College men's golf team finished in first place in a tri-match against Philadelphia University and Richard Stockton College at the ACE Club on Monday afternoon.
The Lightning, who won their second consecutive event, posted a score of 315 while the host Rams followed with a 331 team score. Richard Stockton finished in third place after carding a 351 total score.
McRae, who was the Lightning's top finisher for the fourth time in five events this year, fired a four-over-par score of 76 while senior
Jeff Whiteside (Newark H.S./Bear, Del.) and sophomore
Matthew Scheeper (Delsea H.S./Franklinville, N.J.) followed with a score of 79.
Meanwhile, senior
Devon Ripley (Caesar Rodney H.S./Camden, Del.) and junior
Justin Lesko (St. Mark's H.S./Newark, Del.) each carded a nine-over-par score of 81.
The Lightning will return to the ACE Club on Tuesday to participate in the Philadelphia University Invitational.
