NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Four Goldey-Beacom College athletes made the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team for the Spring 2011 athletic season as the conference office announced a total of 100 student-athletes among the 14 CACC schools that earned a spot on the team this year.
A total of 12 CACC student-athletes earned All-Academic status for the third time, including GBC senior John Marsteller (men's golf). Twenty-eight others were honored for the second time, including GBC junior Ashley Paige (softball) and senior Erik Tammsalu (golf). Sophomore Erin Poffenberger earned the distinction for the first time.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the Spring. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher.
