Game Recap: Softball |

Goldey-Beacom Softball Sweeps Twin-Bill from Lincoln

Goldey-Beacom opened its 2026 home schedule with a 9-1 victory over Lincoln (PA) and then got a 2-1 triumph in the nightcap on a game-winning single from freshman Ayri Hansen (Lakewood, CA) in the last of the seventh inning.

Goldey-Beacom in game one plated three runs in the last of the second for a 4-1 lead.  Chasedy Johnson (Egg Harbor City, NJ) got one home on catcher's interference with the bases loaded, fellow junior McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA) lifted a sacrifice fly and freshman Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) had an RBI groundout.

GBC got two more in the fifth for a 7-1 lead, helped by Gingras' RBI double.  The Lightning held an 8-1 lead in the sixth when sophomore Dani Kallas (Severn, MD) drew a bases-loaded walk to end things via the run rule.

Frank had two hits and two RBI with senior Rayna Pelcak (Laurel Springs, NJ) and freshman Bella Musey (Millville, NJ) recording two hits apiece for the Lightning.  Blackwood, NJ junior Molly Skelly (3-1) struck out five over six innings, allowing just three hits.

The Lightning in game two scored in the third inning for a 1-1 tie.  Johnson drew a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on Frank's sacrifice bunt.

Both teams had many chances afterward, but it was Goldey-Beacom (8-8) who pushed across the second run.  Frank ripped a two-out double and scored when Hansen's drive went over the center fielder's head.

Frank and Hansen closed with three hits apiece with Newark, DE sophomore Lauren Carbonara (2-2) striking out two over seven innings.

Jordin Cathey (2-3) pitched great for the Lions (5-14) with three strikeouts over 6 2/3 frames.  Ajah McDowell finished with two hits.

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday for its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener against Dominican (NY), beginning at noon.
