Three Top-10 Finishes Lift Golf to Second-Place Finish

Sophomore Patrick McRae led the Lightning by carding a 149. He placed 7th overall.
Results

SUFFERN, N.Y. - The Goldey-Beacom College men's golf team featured three top-10 finishers and four in the top-15 as the Lightning claimed second place in the 11-team "Charger Challenge" tournament hosted by Dominican College at Spook Rock Golf Course.

Sophomore Patrick McRae led the way for the Lightning as he carded a career-best 149 (75, 74) on the par-72 course to place seventh overall.  Juniors Devon Ripley (73, 77) and Jeff Whiteside (75, 75) both helped pace the Lightning as they tied for 8th place overall with scores of 150.

Sophomore Bryan Neuhaus came in at 13th overall as he improved six strokes from round one to round two (80, 74) to shoot a 154 for the tournament. Junior Michael Coppa rounded out the Lightning scoring with a 161 (80, 81) to finish in a three-way tie for 39th place.

The Lightning are back in action tomorrow at the Philadelphia University Fall Golf Classic.
