GBC Golf Takes 13th at September Shootout

Hood Leads Lightning With a 149

Senior Wes Hood (above) led the Lightning with a 149 (72, 77). He was tied for fourth overall after day one.

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. – The Goldey-Beacom College men's golf team finished with a team score of 631 to place 13^th of 18 teams at the September Shootout hosted by Dowling College at the Long Island National Golf Course on Sept. 24-25.

The Lightning were in a tie for 10^th place after shooting a 315 in the first round on day one and then they shot a 316 in round two on Sat. to finish 13^th.

Senior Wes Hood shot a 149 (72, 77) to earn GBC's top finish for the day. He was in a tie for fourth place after round one.

Hood was followed by sophomores Devon Ripley (157) and Michael Coppa, Jr. (159). Freshman Justin Lesko shot a 166 while senior Erik Tammsalu was disqualified.

GBC will next compete in the California University of Pennsylvania Vulcan Invitational on Oct. 2-4.
