AIC Wins Inaugural Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Tournament; Lightning 8th

Junior Wes Hood led the Lightning this weekend with a 153.

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Junior Wes Hood shot an 84-69-153 on the 6,711-yard par-70 course to lead the Goldey-Beacom College golf team as the Lightning finished eighth in a field of 17 teams at the Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Invitational, hosted by Post University this weekend through Monday. GBC finished with a team score of 319-307-626.

American International College, led by Kevin Daniels (73-71) and Gregory Strattner (69-75), scored a team total of 294-297-591 to win the tournament.

Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference member Wilmington University (305-300-605) was second, and Adelphi (302-308-610), Le Moyne (313-300-613) and host Post University (313-307-620) completed the top-five.

Daniels took individual honors for the event. Strattner, D.J. Lantz (73-73-145) of Southern New Hampshire, Daniel Ott (76-69-145) of Wilmington, and Garrett Beyor (72-74-146) of AIC finished in the top-five individually.

Hood was GBC's top-finisher with a tie for 16th place.
