Waterbury, CT – Runners left on base, as Lightning Softball fall to Post University

The Lightning softball team traveled to Post University this past Saturday for a CACC double-header.  The game was scoreless through four innings, until a single from sophomore Kim Narkiewicz drove in junior Lauren Witzke to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead.  Post came roaring back in the bottom of the fifth, scoring 4 runs on 4 hits to take game one from the Lightning 4-1.  Lauren Witzke led the team with three hits and scored a run. 

Game two saw the Lighting continued to hit the ball well, but unable to produce runs.  The three runs scored by the Eagles in the fourth inning, were enough to take the game.  Sophomore Shannon O'Hara led the Lightning with six putouts.

The Lightning will next play host to the University of the Sciences on April 2, 2009 at 3:30pm.
