Lakewood, NJ – Lightning struggle at Georgian Court University

The Lightning softball team headed into battle with Georgian Court University on Friday, and held the defending CACC Champions scoreless until the third inning, when the Lions exploded for five runs.  Behind strong pitching, Georgian Court held Lightning batters to one hit, as they secured an 8-0 win.

In game two, the Lightning bats came alive, with three straight hits in the first, but they were unable to score a base runner.  The Lions took an early 3-0 lead and cruised to a two-game sweep, with a 7-1 win.

Freshman Shannon O'Hara's third inning sacrifice fly to left field, scored classmate Shannon Graves, for the Lightning run.

The Lightning will next play at Post University on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 1:00pm.
