Wilmington, DE – Lightning drop two to Bloomsburg

The Lightning faced off against #15 ranked Bloomsburg University on Saturday afternoon, expecting stiff competition from the PSAC power.  In the first game, the Lightning started strong defensively, behind sophomore pitcher Heather Draper, but the Huskies roared to a 10-0 win.  Senior Bridget Mount led the Lightning with 5 putouts.

The second game found freshman Shannon O'Hara on the mound for the Lightning, as they looked to gain a split, but the Huskies were too powerful.  Despite another strong defensive outing, the Lightning could only produce four hits, as Bloomsburg took game two, 9-0.  Junior Lauren Witzke led the Lightning from behind the plate with 8 putouts.

The Lightning will next host Penn State University Abington on Friday, March 20 at 3:00pm.
