STANTON, Del. – Led by a 26th place finish by freshman Michael Coppa Jr., the Goldey-Beacom College golf team finished 13th of 15 teams at the Scotty Duncan Memorial Tournament Mon. afternoon at White Clay Creek Golf Club.
The Lightning, who posted a team score of 664 (327, 337), finished just one stroke behind conference rival Wilmington's second team. The host, University of Delaware took first at 606, six strokes ahead of second-place George Washington at 612. Rutgers (617), Wilmington (635) and Iona College (637) rounded out the top-five.
This meet completes the Fall season for the Lightning.
