Lightning dominate Columbia Union

Takoma Park, MD – Lightning dominate Columbia Union

The Lightning Women's Basketball team dominated Columbia Union on Saturday evening.  The Pioneers took an early 6-2 lead, but after a 15-2 run, the Lightning never looked back.  Controlling the tempo of the game, the Lightning headed to the locker room with a comfortable 24-point lead (42-18).

 

The Lightning continued to control the game in the second half, and walked away with a convincing 90-43 win.  Freshman Evebonee Acosta had a game-high 27 points, and added 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists.  Sophomore Janae Weldon added 23 points, 5 assists and 4 steals, while senior Kellyn Nolan boasted 19 points, and 3 steals.  Sophomore Arielle Alford led the team with 9 rebounds. 

 

The Lightning will host CACC rival Bloomfield College this Tuesday at 6:00pm.
