Goldey-Beacom Gets Four Picked to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom saw sophomore Maria Empadinhas (Cascais, Portugal) and senior Miley Jones (Pemberton, NJ) each named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll, sophomore Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) honored from Volleyball and junior Sam Ball (Salisbury, MD) selected for Men's Soccer.

Empadinhas again was on fire with 19 saves over two games, making the Honor Roll for a second time this year. She made 11 saves Wednesday for her first career shutout in Goldey-Beacom's 1-0 victory at Felician and came back with eight saves Saturday vs. Monroe.

Empadinhas had recorded four straight matches with double figures in saves entering Saturday. She is first in the league and third in the country with 9.67 saves per game.

Jones scored in the 65th minute to give Goldey-Beacom a 1-0 victory Wednesday at Felician. It was her fifth career goal.

Gingras was at it again with 20 kills, a .436 hitting percentage and 16 digs over two matches. She recorded 13 kills, no errors, a .591 percentage and eight digs in Goldey-Beacom's 3-0 victory over defending league champion Bridgeport. This was after she had seven kills and eight digs Tuesday vs. Chestnut Hill.

Last week's CACC Player of the Week, Gingras has three double-doubles on the year and double figures in kills four of her last five matches.

Ball scored twice in Goldey-Beacom's 3-2 loss Saturday at Caldwell. It was his first career brace and he now is at 10 goals with 23 points.
