Baseball Heads into CACC Championship Weekend With Four Picked All-Conference

5/6/2026 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom made a huge splash in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference awards with senior pitchers Connor Blence (Downingtown, PA) and Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) each named first team all-league with sophomore outfielder Roman Keith (Selbyville, DE) and sophomore catcher/first baseman Jake Macey (Smyrna, DE) tabbed second team.

Seeing Blence's name on the scorecard meant a solid outing was about to commence.  Possessing great control and always giving the Lightning a chance to win, he had a three-game winning streak midway through the season, has pitched at least six innings each of his last eight outings and has at least seven strikeouts on seven occasions that include each of his last three.

Blence (5-3) is first in the league with a 3.10 ERA, second with 66 2/3 innings, fourth with 67 strikeouts and fifth with a .254 batting average against.

Williams (7-2) provided yet another reliable arm and also has be a key player for the Lightning the last two seasons.  He also enjoyed a three-game winning streak earlier this year, tossed at least eight innings three times and struck out 12 on March 31 vs. Lincoln (PA).

He is first in the CACC with a .230 batting average against, first with 70 2/3 innings, first with 73 strikeouts, first with seven victories and second with a 3.18 ERA.  Williams' victories this year are tied for first in team history, his strikeouts are second and his innings are fourth.

Keith saw his playing time greatly increase and made his way into the heart of the lineup thanks to his exceptional hitting and solid contributions in left field.  He notched a 12-game hitting streak, is tied for second on the team with 15 multi-hit contests and is first with five three-hit games.

He is ninth in the league with nine home runs, tied for 10th with 47 hits and 11th with 14 doubles.

Macey has been a reliable and durable player the entire campaign, providing timely hitting and great defense either at catcher or first base.  He is third for the Lightning with 14 multi-hit games and reached base a team-best 27 straight contests.

He is 13th in the league with a 1.028 OPS and 13th with a .462 on-base percentage.

Second-seeded Goldey-Beacom (31-20, 22-11 CACC) is headed to championship weekend a fourth consecutive year after sweeping No. 7 seed Holy Family in the first round.  GBC was nationally ranked for the fourth time in the last five years, is in the CACC Tournament a sixth straight year, recorded an 11-game winning streak and entered this year competing in four of the last five NCAA Tournaments.

Goldey-Beacom on Thursday faces third-seeded Jefferson after 2:00 pm in both teams' first game of the double-elimination weekend.  The champion of the four-team field, which also includes Wilmington and Felician, will receive the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
