Kory Williams Inks Contract With the San Francisco Giants; First Goldey-Beacom Baseball Player to Sign With a Major League Team

Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) made history by becoming the first Goldey-Beacom baseball player to sign with a major league team, agreeing to a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants.

Upon his signing, Williams was assigned to the ACL Giants of the Arizona Complex League.

This continues a remarkable 2026 for Williams that saw him be named second team All-East Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association and first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

One of the area's most dominant pitchers, Williams constantly gave the Lightning reliability on the bump in his second year with the program. He enjoyed a three-game winning streak earlier this year, tossed at least eight innings three times and struck out 12 on March 31 vs. Lincoln (PA).

He closed the season first in the CACC with 81 2/3 innings, tied for first with seven wins, second with 81 strikeouts, fourth with a 3.64 ERA and fifth with a .242 batting average against. Williams' victories this year are tied for first in team history, his strikeouts are first and his innings are tied for first.

Goldey-Beacom is one of four teams in the East Region to compete in the NCAA Tournament five of the last six years and the only one to take part each of the last four seasons.

The Lightning (33-24, 22-11 CACC) a season ago competed in the CACC final for the first time, was nationally ranked for the fourth time in the last five years, played in the CACC Tournament a sixth straight year and recorded an 11-game winning streak.
